Marcin Janicki is a native of Poznań and a graduate of the Poznań University of Economics. He also defended his doctorate at this university, writing his thesis entitled. “Business models of football clubs”. In 2018, he obtained the UEFA Certificate in Football Management, in the first edition of this programme in Poland. Since the summer of 2019, he has served as president of the First Football League, a position to which he was unanimously elected by representatives of Fortuna 1 League clubs. He has been on the media and marketing committee of the Polish Football Association since December 2016. Before becoming chairman of the supervisory board of Warta Poznan in July 2019, Marcin Janicki was first vice-president and then president of GKS Katowice.
